The holidays are not far away, and here in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex we’re getting into the spirit of the season. If you’re looking for fun holiday activities to do with your friends and family this year, look no further. We’ve created a list of our 5 favorite holiday activities.
1. Watch the Dallas Holiday Parade
Parades are a guaranteed way to entertain both yourself and your children for a day full of fun. The Dallas Holiday Parade is one of the biggest and best in the area, running through downtown Dallas on Saturday, December 3 at 10:00 AM. This year, the parade is encouraging everyone to wear red—and make sure you wear comfortable shoes for walking.
2. Go holiday shopping at The Shops at North East Mall
If you’re looking to get your holiday shopping done and support local businesses here in the Dallas area, the Holiday Market Series at North East Mall is a great way to do both. Check off everyone on your gift list and pick up a little something for yourself. The Holiday Market Series runs from November 19 to December 18 and features many beautiful gifts from local vendors.
3. Get pictures with Santa
If you have little ones, you’re probably already wondering how to get pictures with Santa this year. There are multiple locations in the Dallas area where you’ll be able to find Santa this holiday season. If you’re in North Dallas, try The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano from November 12 to December 24. It’s often best to schedule pictures with Santa in advance, so check the websites of malls near you and see if they take reservations.
4. Attend a holiday concert at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
From December 7-11, enjoy your favorite Christmas carols and holiday tunes with the beautiful classical sounds of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Dress up and enjoy dinner and a concert with your friends or cozy up with a winter date. A cozy, classical evening is sure to bring out the holiday spirit.
5. Go ice skating at the Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Centre
Ice skating is a classic winter activity beloved by many, and for a good reason. It’s something you can only do during the holidays and is an activity for people of all ages. Whether you’re spending time with friends, kids, or entertaining parents visiting from out of town, the Galleria is the perfect place to have fun this holiday season.
